PROJECT : A KLEENOIL hydraulic filter was installed on a Winder pump Hydraulic Pack in the Norampac paper mill in Stratford, Ontario, Canada on 2nd August 2001. The oil was changed, & a sample was taken for analysis. Further samples were taken in October, November January & March. The cleanliness results are as follow: ISO 4406 NAS 1638 2nd Aug – at fitting KLEENOIL 17/4 CLASS 9 3rd September 14/11 CLASS 6 19th November 14/11 CLASS 6 11th January 14/11 CLASS 6 27th March 12/10 CLASS 5 The initial cleanliness level on 2nd Aug’ is typical of new oil, & there was a gradual improvement until March when ISO 12/10, NAS CLASS 5 were achieved. From one month after fitting of the KLEENOIL system: the oil cleanliness was at a level never seen in new oil – & seldom achieved with any form of full flow filtration. The inevitable result will be a total cessation of pump wear. Greatly extended life of seals & rams, & an end to solenoids sticking, which is always due to contaminated oil.
